Recent trends indicate that <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin’s bullish streak continues despite a 6% drop, with its value currently standing at $105,000, a slight decrease from its all-time-high of $112,000. So, is this a momentary setback backed by robust support or an indication of a more pessimistic future? The evidence leans towards the former, especially with the advent of environmentally friendly <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://www.goldshell.com/product/goldshell-al-box-%e2%85%b1/?campaign=cryptoupdate&gsaf=fehumarketing" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 8475>mining initiatives in Nigeria, which could potentially boost the <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin market and the <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin meme coin, BTC Bull token.

Nigerian startup Green Flare is set to transform environmental pollutants into <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin. Their strategy involves using the energy created by burning off the natural gas to power extensive <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://www.goldshell.com/product/goldshell-al-box-%e2%85%b1/?campaign=cryptoupdate&gsaf=fehumarketing" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 8475>mining operations. Once fully operational, this three-phase project will produce 53MW of energy for <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://www.goldshell.com/product/goldshell-al-box-%e2%85%b1/?campaign=cryptoupdate&gsaf=fehumarketing" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 8475>mining rigs.

Green Flare’s initiative is highly relevant, considering that Nigeria accounts for 75% of global gas flaring emissions, and <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://www.goldshell.com/product/goldshell-al-box-%e2%85%b1/?campaign=cryptoupdate&gsaf=fehumarketing" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 8475>mining is a significant energy consumer. The UN reported that in 2023, <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://www.goldshell.com/product/goldshell-al-box-%e2%85%b1/?campaign=cryptoupdate&gsaf=fehumarketing" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 8475>mining would have ranked 27th worldwide in energy consumption, with 66% of the energy coming from fossil fuels.

Despite the recent pullback, <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin is still “structurally strong,” according to Bitfinex experts. They believe the correction is a healthy reset and not a breakdown. While external factors continue to cause volatility and uncertainty, <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin’s strength lies beneath the surface, and future growth is expected.

The BTC Bull Token ($BTCBULL), the first-ever <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin meme coin with a $BTC airdrop, is designed to keep <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin and its bullish companion climbing up the <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>crypto charts. The token comes with several features, including regular token burns and airdrops, a 14-day ‘cooling-off’ period during the presale, and the potential to earn free $BTC when <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin’s price reaches certain milestones.

Investors interested in leveraging on the $BTCBULL’s meme coin momentum can track the token’s price upward as <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin ascends. Our price prediction shows that the token, which currently costs just $0.002545, could increase by 230% to reach $0.0084 by the end of the year.

As the year progresses, <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin’s fundamental soundness suggests a potential breakout. When that happens, investors may realize the value of the $BTC airdrops, leading to a corresponding spike in $BTCBULL’s price. As always, investors are encouraged to conduct their research as this is not financial advice.

The Shift in Nigeria’s <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Crypto Stance In a significant move, Nigeria’s central bank has relaxed its stance on cryptocurrencies, now allowing banks to facilitate <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>crypto transactions. This decision marks a notable shift in the regulatory landscape of one of Africa’s largest economies. Previously, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had imposed stringent restrictions on cryptocurrencies, citing concerns over financial stability and the potential for misuse. However, the recent change in policy indicates a growing recognition of the importance of digital currencies in the global financial system.

Implications for the <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Crypto Market This development is expected to have far-reaching implications for the Nigerian economy and the broader African <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>crypto market. By enabling banks to engage with <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>cryptocurrency transactions, Nigeria is opening up new avenues for investment and innovation in the digital currency space. This move could lead to increased adoption of cryptocurrencies in Nigeria, potentially driving growth in the African <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>crypto market. Moreover, it sets a precedent for other African nations, possibly influencing their regulatory approaches towards cryptocurrencies.

Potential Challenges and Opportunities While this policy shift presents significant opportunities, it also poses challenges. The integration of cryptocurrencies into Nigeria’s banking system will require robust regulatory frameworks to mitigate risks such as money laundering and fraud. Additionally, there will be a need for increased public awareness and education about cryptocurrencies to ensure safe and informed participation in the market.

According to reports, the government of Nigeria is planning to officially legalize the use of <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536><a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies to stay abreast of “global practices.”

As a result of an interview with House of Representatives Committee on Capital Markets Chairman Babangida Ibrahim on December 18, Nigeria’s Punch Newspapers broke the story.

The local Securities and Exchange Commission will be able to “recognize cryptocurrencies and other digital assets as capital for investment” if the Investments and Securities Act 2007 (Amendment) Bill is passed and signed into law, as stated in the article.

Ibrahim emphasized the need for Nigeria to become abreast of the latest happenings in the financial markets. He says they need an effective and robust capital market in Nigeria. To achieve this goal, they should be conversant with contemporary worldwide procedures.
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) ordered Nigerian <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>crypto exchanges and service providers to cease activity and mandated banks to shut down the accounts of any individuals or entities found to be engaging in trading activities in February 2021. This report comes nearly 24 months after the ban was implemented.

But Ibrahim, president of Nigeria from 1985 to 1993, says that the legislation isn’t a complete reversal of the prohibition but rather a secondary assessment of the CBN’s authority.

…we are looking at the legality; what is legitimate and within the context of our business in Nigeria,

the official said.

Most <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>cryptocurrency investors in Nigeria don’t even utilize local accounts, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) found when <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>cryptocurrency trading was first outlawed. Therefore, the CBN does not have authority over them. He claimed that the CBN cannot monitor their activities since they are not using local accounts.

The Investments and Securities Act of 2007 in Nigeria would be revised if this bill were to become law.

<a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536><a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies would be given official status under the legislation, and the regulatory functions of the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) of Nigeria will be laid down, according to the article.

The regulation appears at the same time as the eNaira, the digital money issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria has failed to gain widespread acceptance among Nigerians. As of October 2022, a full year after its debut, barely 0.5% of the population had adopted the currency.

Adoption in Nigeria continues to rise even after the government banned cryptocurrencies in February 2021, suggesting that previous attempts to clamp down on <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>crypto activity were futile.

Nigerians were second only to the United States in <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536><a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin trade volume between January and August last year. They were also the most likely to google “<a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536><a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin” during that time.

According to a survey by CoinGecko in April, Nigerian citizens were also revealed to be the most crypto-curious country. It’s hardly surprising that people in Nigeria are curious about how to combat their country’s persistently high inflation and economic woes.

Additionally, in September, Nigeria began preliminary talks with <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>cryptocurrency exchange Binance about creating a crypto-friendly economic zone to facilitate <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>crypto and blockchain-related enterprises in the country.

In Africa, the number of people who accept cryptocurrencies has grown over the last few years, even though the continent doesn’t have a good financial infrastructure and has inflation and uncertain government policies. In a recent survey done by CoinGecko, Nigerians were found to be the most interested in cryptocurrencies. Residents of Nigeria searched for the phrases “<a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>cryptocurrency” and “buy <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>crypto” more than residents of any of the other 14 nations that were studied.

Also, in October 2021, Nigeria introduced eNaira, which was the country’s first digital currency issued by the central bank. This project is meant to help people in Nigeria who don’t have bank accounts by getting them to sign up.

Meeting in Nigeria

The Nigerian government and the <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>cryptocurrency exchange Binance met for the first time to talk about the possibility of setting up a special economic zone in Nigeria that would help blockchain technology and <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>cryptocurrency companies. The authorities are said to have had preliminary talks with the <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>cryptocurrency exchange Binance and the tech company Talent City about the proposed digital city, which is also called a “Virtual Free Zone”.

Adesoji Adesugba, who is the managing director of NEPZA, says that the proposed zone will be the first of its kind in West Africa and will work like the virtual zones in Dubai. These zones are meant to have laws and regulations that are friendly to cryptocurrencies, as well as tax incentives for businesses that deal with them.
