Notable figures like Paul Tudor Jones III, Kevin O’Leary, and even former critic Ray Dalio, who have entered the crypto ecosystem, originally suggested that individuals should invest no more than 5% in Bitcoin. However, with the change in the adoption curve, some financial advisors are now advocating for much larger investment percentages.

As reported by CNBC, Ric Edelman, the head of the Digital Assets Council of Financial Advisors, has dramatically shifted his perspective from four years ago. Back then, he advised conservative investors to dedicate about 1% of their portfolios to Bitcoin. “Today I am suggesting a 40% allocation, which is astonishing. This is a first,” he remarked recently.

The rationale behind this significant increase in his advice is Bitcoin’s global standing and the status of other cryptocurrencies. A few years ago, these digital assets were mocked, and it was uncertain whether countries like China or the US might ban them. However, the current scenario has completely changed, with countries like the US revealing plans to accumulate Bitcoin as a reserve asset.

The conventional 60/40 investment theory, which advocates 60% allocation to stocks and 40% to bonds, may no longer be valid in today’s financial landscape, according to Edelman. Instead, he recommends diversifying with cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin, which he believes offers the potential for higher returns than almost any other asset class.
