In the world of <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>cryptocurrency today, Michael Saylor, the co-founder of Strategy, hints at an upcoming <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin purchase amidst Middle East tensions. In other news, Vietnam has enacted legislation to regulate digital assets, and despite the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict, the <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>crypto market sentiment remains bullish.

Strategy’s co-founder, Michael Saylor, shared a <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin BTCUSD chart, suggesting an impending purchase by the company amidst the escalating geopolitical conflict between Israel and Iran. “Bigger Dots are ₿etter,” Saylor informed his 4.4 million followers in a recent post, pointing towards a purchase in the near future. As per SaylorTracker, Strategy presently holds 582,000 BTC, making it the biggest known corporate <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin holder. This potential acquisition signifies investor confidence in <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin, which has remained stable around $105,000 during the Israel-Iran conflict. However, an escalation in the war and subsequent impact on energy prices could affect risk-on-asset markets.

In a significant legislative move, the National Assembly of Vietnam endorsed the Law on Digital Technology Industry on June 14, thereby bringing digital assets under regulatory surveillance. The law, which comes into effect on January 1, 2026, categorizes digital assets into virtual assets and <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>crypto assets, excluding securities, digital fiat currencies, and other financial instruments from these categories. The government now needs to establish specific business conditions, classifications, and oversight mechanisms for these digital assets. This law also necessitates cybersecurity and Anti-Money Laundering measures in line with international standards, likely in response to Vietnam’s inclusion in the Financial Action Task Force’s (FATF) “gray list” since 2023.

Despite rising geopolitical tensions following Israel’s airstrikes on Iran, the <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Crypto Fear & Greed Index, a measure of overall <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>crypto market sentiment, remains in the “greed” zone. The Index stood at 60 in its latest update, with <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin falling 2.8% to $103,000 on Friday after Israel’s claimed responsibility for the explosions in Tehran, and Iran’s subsequent retaliation with ballistic missiles. Notably, <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin is currently trading at $105,670, according to CoinMarketCap.

Cryptocurrencies are becoming increasingly popular in South East Asia. A recent survey commissioned by Finder.com reveals that Vietnam tops the chart in <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>crypto adoption. Over 42,000 people from over 27 countries including Europe, Asia and the Americas participated in the survey.

Of all the 27 countries, over 41% of the participants from Vietnam confirmed that they had purchased cryptocurrencies. The most popular amongst Vietnamese <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>crypto users is <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin. Over 20% said that they had purchased <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin (BTC).

The report also finds that <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin remains popular globally amongst <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>crypto users. South Asian countries are found to be the top adopters with more and more people using <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>crypto.

The finder report states: “Remittance payment may have played a significant role in these numbers, with <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>cryptocurrency an option for migrants who want to send money home and avoid exchange fees.”

Apart from Vietnam, other countries that are having high levels of <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>crypto adoption according to the report are Indonesia, India, Malaysia and the Philippines. About 30% in Indonesia and India said they had purchased <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>crypto. 29% and 28% of respondents in Malaysia and the Philippines respectively said that they had purchased <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>crypto.

In the coming two years, Vietnam’s central bank will work on a program designed to implement cryptocurrencies.

Vietnamese government is weighing the possibilities by exploring advantages and challenges with digital assets.

If the country gives digital currency a legal value, it would have an impact on Vietnamese economy.

Countries across the globe are exploring possibilities with cryptocurrencies. Vietnam, where cryptocurrencies have become popular in recent years, is considering experimenting with digital assets. The country’s prime minister has asked the central bank, the country’s top financial authority, to start a pilot project and develop a strategy regarding cryptocurrencies and their use. The project is directed to last for two years.

Pham Minh Chinh, the Prime Minister of Vietnam, believes that with the use of digital currencies the country can limit the use of paper currencies and said that with the popularity of cryptocurrencies increasing each passing day, it is impossible to ignore them.

Huynh Phuoc Nghia, deputy director of the Institute of Innovation under the University of Economics HCM City, says that the plan includes evaluating the advantages and how the country can allow <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>cryptocurrency adoption.“ The recognition of digital currencies by the central bank would help to accelerate this process,” opined Nghia.

Though the country doesn’t recognise cryptocurrencies as legal tender, the number of <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>cryptocurrency users in the country has risen steadily since 2017. Also, according to the data from the country’s top financial authority, the use of digital payments has also grown at an exponential rate. Earlier in the year, El Salvador became the first country to make <a class="lar-automated-link" href="https://accounts.binance.com/register?ref=42224911" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" 4536>Bitcoin a legal currency and it wouldn’t be surprising if we see other countries following suit.
