Shiba Inu Introduces DAO and Probes Alleged Rug Pulls Within the Network

Date:

The development team behind Shiba Inu’s Shibarium ecosystem is currently examining alleged rug pulls conducted by nefarious actors within its framework. This internal investigation comes in response to concerns about certain projects exploiting and undermining the Shibarium network’s credibility.

On May 31, a central contributor to Shibarium, Davinci.Shib, announced this initiative on social media platform X. He revealed that particular groups within the ecosystem are reportedly reaping benefits from the system while concurrently tarnishing its reputation. These groups operate under criticism while extracting value from the infrastructure they are sabotaging.

Davinci emphasises that the team is committed to publishing any confirmed findings to maintain transparency. However, they will abstain from further action should the evidence remain inconclusive, avoiding any encouragement of groundless speculation. This move mirrors the growing warnings from the Shiba Inu community regarding harmful actors.

Lucie, Shiba Inu’s marketing lead, recently warned users about the increase in scam attempts. She highlighted that attackers could seize social media accounts to disseminate false information or endorse scam projects.

Parallel to managing these internal threats, Shiba Inu has made a significant stride towards decentralisation. On May 29, the ecosystem officially unveiled ShibDAO, a community-driven governance structure that authorises users to vote on significant upgrades and proposals.

ShibDAO establishes a tiered governance model that divides responsibilities among four primary DAOs. SHIB DAO will manage community initiatives, BONE DAO will steer protocol development, LEASH DAO will arbitrate internal disputes, and TREAT DAO will finance dApp innovation and ecosystem expansion.

This DAO also facilitates the creation of smaller sub-DAOs, enabling community members to obtain a Shib Name (SNS) and form self-governing groups. These groups can concentrate on niche areas like art, DeFi, or public goods.

Simultaneously, Shiba Inu has introduced Bury 2.0, a redesigned staking system that allows users to lock SHIB, BONE, LEASH, and TREAT tokens to earn voting power. The longer and larger the stake, the more influence a holder acquires within the ecosystem.

The dual launch of ShibDAO and Bury 2.0 signifies Shiba Inu’s evolving vision—from a meme token to a structured, utility-rich Web3 platform, governed by its community and aimed at long-term sustainability.
