Community Call Scheduled by Request on June 12th
The digital financial platform, Request, has announced a community call on June 12th, starting at 16:00 UTC.
The call is set to cover a summary of recent achievements, an introduction to upcoming protocol upgrades, and a live Q&A session with the team. The official update was shared via a tweet by Request.
Request is a unique platform aspiring to form a “universal cooperative financial system” that connects various isolated financial platforms. It provides users with full control over their financial data and decisions, acting as the intermediary for a range of payment requests, from simple peer-to-peer transactions to complex business invoices.
Payments are initiated in the Request system by sending an invoice through the blockchain, which can then be acknowledged and fulfilled by the recipient in a single action, marking a direct peer-to-peer transaction. Notably, Request’s transactions are push-driven, eliminating the need for the disclosure of personal account information.
With the use of blockchain technology, primarily Ethereum and IPFS, the platform eliminates reliance on third-party intermediaries, which results in reduced transaction costs and improved security, privacy, and data ownership for users. Despite the existence of transaction fees on the platform, these are necessary for broadcasting updates to the blockchain and encouraging miners to achieve network consensus.
REQ is an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum platform. Every request made with REQ is recorded on a permanent digital ledger, serving as a tamper-proof record and a useful auditing tool.
