BTG Pactual, a leading investment banking company in Brazil has launched a dedicated crypto trading app for its customers. To tap into the emerging cryptocurrency markets in the region, BTG Pactual had already started supporting crypto trade earlier, but now with a dedicated crypto trading app, its customers will get access to a range of coins.
With the App, customers will be able to make direct investments in cryptocurrencies. Commenting on the launch of a dedicated app, Andre Porthilo, BTG Pactual’s head of digital assets, said: “At this first moment, we will have the two main assets of the market, but we will include other cryptos for trading over time. We will have a complete platform with blockchain-based assets.”
Cryptocurrencies are getting excessively popular in Latin American countries. Brazil is also an emerging market for blockchain-based projects. BTG Pactual CEO, Roberto Sallouti, said that the move to launch a dedicated crypto trading app is strategic and it was imperative to meet the demands of the customers who are actively willing to trade cryptocurrencies.
The new crypto trading app goes by the name of MYNT. “With the support of BTG Pactual, Mynt has fundamental differentials in security and credibility [—] characteristics that are fundamental in a new category of investments with which most people [are] not yet used to,” Sallouti explained.
Brazil has been positively planning to regulate crypto. A significant number of investors in the country are now willing to invest in digital assets. To meet the growing demand, even conventional financial institutions are coming up with crypto-focussed solutions.
