As FTX is pushing to give Coinbase a competition it has now become an official sponsor of MLB (Major Basketball League) in the US. In an announcement on Wednesday, the US-based cryptocurrency exchange confirmed the deal.
Following the deal, the umpires would now be wearing jerseys that will have Logo of FTX cryptocurrency exchange. FTX has announced that their branding will be seen on all umpire uniforms during the games which are to start on July 13. The leading exchange calls itself “first-ever umpire uniform patch partner.”
Bankman-Fried said in a statement to the press: “We look forward to announcing further details of our long-term partnership throughout the remainder of this year.”
A Positive Sign
Such partnerships are a positive indicator of how cryptocurrency is gaining traction amongst the mainstream teams and event organizers. Earlier, a few top basketball teams announced that they would be accepting crypto payments for their tickets.
