Shiba Inu’s Vision for a Decentralized Community
Shiba Inu’s anonymous lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, recently shared a grand vision to establish a decentralized, enduring community for the SHIB cryptocurrency. In a recent blog post titled “Long Live Shiba Inu!”, Kusama shared updates on the project’s progress and a roadmap for its future. The initial query that ignited this project was, “Is it possible to build a leaderless, fully decentralized, autonomous, persistent community?”
Despite many projects aiming for similar goals, Shiba Inu has exceeded expectations and turned into one of the most successful ventures. Kusama emphasized the need for true permanence, extending beyond mere decentralization and assuring a robust foundation for the community. In an effort to actualize founder Ryoshi’s original vision for SHIB, Kusama proposed an update that introduces intent and broadens the idea of a decentralized, long-lasting community.
The Role of Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO)
Kusama believes that forming a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO), an organization based on blockchain that functions without a central authority, is essential to achieve this vision. In his blog, Kusama suggested wrapping the existing “Shiba Doggy DAO” with the Cayman Foundation.
With the rise of DAOs over the past few years, there is a growing need for a legal framework to protect members, safeguard funds, and enable governance. This need has led to the development of the so-called DAO legal wrapper, and places such as the Cayman Islands, Singapore, Switzerland, and Panama, with their progressive pro-crypto laws, have become popular for DAO incorporation. Kusama states that this action intends to ensure the foundation executes the DAO’s decisions, ensuring proper management of DAO assets.
Furthermore, Kusama presented the idea of Doggy DAO(s) that would govern various parts of the Shiba Inu ecosystem. The governance would be divided into four segments, each with its corresponding core token responsible for governance. This division supports equal representation and the community’s long-term sustainability.
The Launch of Shibarium and What It Means for the Shiba Inu Ecosystem
In another exciting development, Kusama announced SHIB’s sponsorship of several events taking place in Toronto this August, including the Blockchain Futurist Conference, Eth Toronto, and Eth Women. These events will provide a stage to showcase completed projects, including the eagerly anticipated Shibarium network.
Kusama wrote, “At this location, the completed World paper will be exhibited, all Shib branded projects will be published, and Treat will be published in detail for the first time.” This launch is expected to be a pivotal moment in the journey of SHIB towards a decentralized community, indicating a significant move for the SHIB ecosystem.
As the ecosystem approaches an exciting implementation phase, it remains to be seen how SHIB’s vision for a decentralized community proceeds, emphasizing its commitment to revolutionizing the cryptocurrency landscape.
