OpenEden’s Powerful Expansion: 5 Amazing Steps to Scale Tokenized Treasurys

Date:

OpenEden, a leading platform specializing in real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, has announced a significant leap forward with backing from major trading firms, venture capital entities, blockchain networks, and institutional infrastructure providers. This strategic move aims to scale the burgeoning market of tokenized US Treasurys, a segment rapidly growing within the crypto landscape.

OpenEden’s Ambitious Plans for Tokenized Treasurys

The latest investment round comes on the heels of OpenEden’s 2024 fundraising efforts with YZi Labs. As the tokenized versions of short-dated government debt become a hot commodity in 2025, OpenEden is poised to capitalize on this trend. “As tokenization scales in adoption, institutions and protocols are seeking trusted, compliant infrastructure to bring traditional assets on-chain,” stated Jeremy Ng, the founder and CEO of OpenEden.

Among those investing in this venture are prominent names like Ripple, Lightspeed Faction, and Gate Ventures, alongside others such as FalconX, Anchorage Digital Ventures, and Flowdesk. While the specific amount raised remains undisclosed, the investment is set to fuel OpenEden’s expansion into the tokenization-as-a-service market.

Core Offerings: Tokenized Treasury Fund and Yield Stablecoin

OpenEden is channeling the new funds to enhance its platform and introduce innovative products tied to traditional financial markets. Central to their offerings are the tokenized US Treasury fund, known as TBILL, and a yield-bearing stablecoin, USDO, which is backed by these treasuries. “This funding round boosts our capacity to provide regulated, market-ready products that fit both traditional and decentralized finance standards,” Ng added.

Both USDO and its wrapped version, cUSDO, have been successfully integrated across various decentralized exchanges and lending markets. Notably, cUSDO was recently approved as off-exchange collateral at Binance, facilitating asset posting during trades.

Strategic Developments and Future Plans

OpenEden is not resting on its laurels. The company is actively working on launching additional products such as tokenized bond exposure, a multi-strategy yield token, and a variety of structured products. In a strategic partnership, OpenEden appointed The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation (BNY) as the custodian and investment manager for the treasuries underlying TBILL. Further bolstering its credibility, OpenEden has secured investment-grade ratings for TBILL from S&P Global and Moody’s.

As the Bank for International Settlements reported last month, tokenized money market funds are emerging as critical yield products on public blockchains, offering returns comparable to traditional money funds with enhanced safeguards. The BIS estimates that assets in tokenized money market funds have surged to nearly $9 billion, a significant increase from $770 million at the close of 2023.

OpenEden stands at the forefront of this financial innovation, driving the integration of traditional assets with blockchain technology, and setting a new standard for compliant and efficient digital asset management.
