Amidst Bitcoin’s recent dip below $66,000, ARK Invest, led by the renowned Bitcoin advocate Cathie Wood, strategically acquired crypto-linked stocks, focusing notably on a $34 million investment in Robinhood. This significant addition to ARK’s portfolio highlights their confidence in Robinhood’s potential within the crypto space.
ARK Invest Expands Crypto Holdings
ARK Invest’s recent purchase includes 433,806 shares of Robinhood, valued at approximately $33.8 million, as per Cointelegraph’s trade notification. This acquisition aligns with ARK’s broader strategy of increasing exposure to the crypto market, also reflected in their investments in Bullish and Circle, valued at $11.6 million and $4.4 million, respectively.
Robinhood shares experienced a nearly 9% drop, presenting a buying opportunity for ARK. Despite the dip, ARK refrained from further investment in Coinbase after a recent $17 million sell-off.
Robinhood’s Strategic Developments
Robinhood recently launched the testnet for Robinhood Chain, a permissionless layer 2 blockchain designed to enhance financial services and tokenized real-world assets. This innovation may fortify Robinhood’s position in the crypto industry, aligning with ARK’s investment strategy.
In its latest financial report, Robinhood announced a record net revenue of $1.28 billion for Q4 2025, marking a 27% year-over-year increase. However, the figure fell short of the anticipated $1.34 billion, causing an 8% decline in stock value.
Market Dynamics and ETF Movements
Broader market trends reveal a slowdown in US spot Bitcoin ETFs, which saw $276.3 million in net outflows, nearly erasing weekly gains. This downturn in ETFs reflects the current market’s volatility.
Ethereum and XRP funds also faced outflows, while Solana ETFs managed a modest inflow of $0.5 million. At publication, Bitcoin was trading at $67,227, showing a slight 0.4% increase over the past 24 hours.
These developments suggest an inflection point in crypto investment products, following significant outflows in recent weeks.
