US-based investment firm Microstrategy which is a leading investor in digital assets has confirmed that it purchased additional Bitcoins between July 1 and August 23 to its portfolio.
In a filing with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, the company revealed that they have invested in 3,907 Bitcoins. The filing published on Tuesday also revealed that the company has bought the leading tokens at an average price of $45,294.
With the addition of Bitcoins to the portfolio, the company now has over 108,992 BTC. The average cost at which Microstrategy has purchased Bitcoins is $26,769 per “coin.” It has actually invested an overall $2.918 billion.
In the meanwhile, the price of Bitcoins is rallying around the $50,000 mark. At the current price, Microstrategy’s BTC holdings are valued at $5.3 billion.
Michael Saylor, who is the CEO of Microstrategy has been a strong proponent of digital tokens. He believes Bitcoin is digital Gold.
